Choosing the right IVF package

IVF Packages

Decisions, decisions. Money, money.

As we all know that surrogacy is not like buying lunch – you don’t eat, be filled, be satisfied and then go. It is not as easy as you think and it is not as affordable as you think too. We have to keep reminding ourselves that we are fortunate to be able to do this in order to reach our family goals. There is so much to think of, and so many ‘stakeholders’ to deal with. One of them is CReATe Fertility Centre, our selected IVF Clinic in Toronto.

Nope, we didn’t settle for ‘basic’

After having to let go of our first surrogate in August 2017, our surrogacy agency, Canadian Fertility Consulting (CFC), advised us to update our Intended Parents’ profile bio but creating a PowerPoint presentation slides with a bit of information including pictures, and an introductory video of us. The agency said that potential surrogates like to see and listen to Intended Parents before they decide to pick them. Fair enough, a video is one of the best ways to see how we would speak or interact with each other. It will also be able to show enthusiasm and desires well. We can show so much more than potential surrogates seeing two head shots of us and reading answers to questions on several pages on a PDF document.

Rematched with another egg donor

Egg cells

New egg donor, we have!

Since losing our egg donor and having to let our surrogate go, we knew we didn’t have the time to look into the egg donor agency’s database and also making the video and presentation for potential surrogates. While we were away in Singapore for work, we managed to secure a place to move into. We wanted to move closer to Melbourne and we have been looking for places to rent, for many months. There were also other factors that came into play that didn’t allow us to do much, and leaving us tired and drained every day. Imagine having to pack the old place and moving and setting up in the new place, plus having work pressures – the weekends were supposed to be a bit better, but it just didn’t seem to be relaxing at all. It was only around mid to end-October when we knew we had to something about it.
