Semen Specimen Cup

Depositing semen glamorously

The day arrived for depositing our semen. We had never done it before and hopefully, we won’t have to do it again. At the same time, we wanted to experience this and remember what it was like and how it felt to be told to ejaculate into a cup at a certain time in a specific venue.

We arrived at Australian Clinical Labs Andrology at 19 Erin Street, Richmond (Victoria, Australia) at our appointment time. As we walked in, there was no one there except for a young female receptionist. She was all smiley and she asked our names and made sure that we were on her list. We sat there and waited for our turn. We were told that it was individual rooms, and it is not for sharing. What a laugh. I can’t imagine how many people would have asked to go into together or as a group. Hahaha.

Semen deposits required

Semen deposits

We wanted to go to Canada for fresh semen deposits

Initially, we planned to travel to Canada to do fresh sperm/semen deposits at our IVF clinic – CReATe Fertility Centre. We have spoken about this for a very long time that that was what we wanted to do.

Recently, we were advised by Hilary (from CReATe) that if we want the eggs (retrieved from the egg donor) to be fertilised fresh, we have to be there when the eggs are retrieved. Considering the egg donor takes a week or two for her medication (to stimulate more eggs growth), we can only be given notice when she starts taking the medication. It was a timeline that we couldn’t work with. To fly to Toronto at such last minute notice is not possible especially when we have all the work that we have going on, plus we will be heading to Singapore in July/August 2017. It is almost a full day of flying! We couldn’t see ourselves dropping everything to fly over for it. So we enquired to see what other ways we can go with. Hilary said we can deposit in Australia and have them frozen and shipped. So we are taking that option.

Birds Of A Feather | Newport, Melbourne, Australia

Birds of a Feather featured image

Over the weekend, we stumbled across this Birds of a Feather cafe beside Newport train station in Melbourne while in the area attending property inspections. It was an early inspection and we thought we should get something to eat. Cam had ham cheese and tomato croissant with coffee to go, and we were surprised by the quality of food and the attractiveness of the items they had on the menu. We decided to head back there for lunch when we had a break between inspections.

Customers can be absolutely painful. ABSOLUTELY PAINFUL.

Annoying customers

What a pain in the bottom!

Recently, I had a customer who purchased two Wesco products from my Homeware Secrets business. She was an absolutely painful person.

What happened? – you may ask.

On 27 April 2017, Angela (name changed for privacy purposes) emailed indicating that there was a scratch on the lid of the orange Wesco Spaceboy XL 35L Waste Bin that she received that afternoon. She demanded for a lid replacement. As a business person, we do think about the customers, but also think about the cost it will be for us to send another one, especially if it was found to be a damage that was done by the customer. Customer may be right, but there are seriously some arseholes out there who will take advantage of the system.

Our surrogate reduces prescription drugs

prescription drugs

We are concerned and confused

We knew our surrogate was on a variety of prescription drugs but it was only in the last couple of months when she started to explain what those drugs were for, especially when she mentioned that through her medical screening, CReATe Fertility Centre wanted her to reduce or remove her reliance on those drugs. We told Hope that we did not want her to rush into anything, and she informed us that her doctor would be the one to advise her on gradually reducing the drug intake.
