Over the weekend, we went to South Melbourne Markets for lunch as we were not too far from there. We always wanted to sit in for a meal in one of the restaurants along Cecil Street. We didn’t know what to have, so we decided to pick the one that grabbed our attention. That day, it was Spanish food. The massive pans of paella that took pole position at the front of the restaurant drew us in. Great tactic to get customers coming in, all they had to do was to move half of their kitchen outside for all to see. We were at Simply Spanish.
So it was Spanish food. We didn’t wait for too long maybe because we were there at the right time. It was still packed and we only waited for a couple of minutes before being led to our table outside of the restaurant. The tables were placed very close together and there was hardly any room to move. The wait staff would be serving the table next to us and their behind will be facing us. It was a bit uncomfortable.
The food wasn’t too bad. They have plenty of tapas and paellas to choose from. The menu can be viewed online here.
It’s a pity that I didn’t get a picture of their paella but I got good pictures of the tapas that we ordered! 🙂
