[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Okay peoples… I remember having this cake from Black Star Pastry before all the hype. I stumbled across this cafe online when I was looking around for a birthday cake for a colleague. Basically trying to find where is the nearest place I can get a nice cake.
Back then, the café only had the Newtown and Rosebery (nearest to me) branch too. I chose the Strawberry Watermelon cake as it was different and never seen a cake with watermelon in it. Bought a small slab of it and it came in a cute little yellow box with cartoon roads and cars on it. The cake was not overly sweet like most others and the cream was rose-scented, which ties in beautifully and delicately with the watermelon and strawberry. It is one of the prettiest and lightest simple layered cake I have ever seen and eaten. So good for your waist-line… now who am I kidding?! lol
Just remember kids, this cake doesn’t keep well. It is best to buy and then eat within the hour if not it will warp as there is a lot of moisture in this fragile cake. It may keep longer if it doesn’t stay out of the fridge for too long.
