Over the weekend, we were in the Hunter Valley for my cousin’s wedding. We stumbled across this gem of a restaurant which we feel needs to be known! Bistro Molines is one of the best places we have been to, and it was a surprise as we only knew about that place through the little motel that we stayed at. We were looking for food options for lunch and we were told to go there for a superb meal. Superb wasn’t it. It was perfect!
As we were waiting for our entrees to arrive, we were served a complimentary cheese dish which was delicious! I can’t remember what cheese it was but the batter was light and the cheese was soft and understated that you would just want to have a whole bowl and pick on it.
Our entrees were served. We started off with the charcuterie platter and a side of chips, and were blown away by what was presented. The liver pate was one of the smoothest we have tasted! It was not sickly rich, which was a bonus! We were so impressed by the liver ate that ordered another serving of it in midst of polishing that charcuterie platter! We woof-ed it all down so quickly wondering if the mains could be as good or be better than what we just tasted.
We had the lamb rump and the duck breast (which is supposed the signature dish as we were told it never leaves the menu). Oh my goodness. Heaven for our tastebuds. Every piece of cut meat that was place within our mouths made every cell sing. Our salivary glands were on overdrive!I couldn’t rave about it any more than I have. It’s an amazing place with an amazing view, and
I couldn’t have raved about Bistro Molines any more than I have. It’s an amazing place with top quality food, paired with an amazing view, and knowledgeable and friendly staff. We would literally drive all the way up from Sydney to have this again. It is worth every cent, every bite, and every minute!
We give Bistro Molines 10 out of 10.
