Easter long weekend is always good for relaxing and doing nothing much, but what it is not good for is the availability of food, especially in a town like Geelong. On Easter Monday, we decided to go around looking for some place to eat, also finding an excuse to get out of the house for some fresh air. Basically, over that long weekend, we finished off two TV series – 13 Reasons Why on Netflix and Imposters on Stan. When we were driving about, we found most of our favourite places closed for the holidays, which made us choose the places that we have never really thought of going to. Pakington Cottage was one of them.

It was a cute little cottage that looked pretty small from the outside, but as we walk in, we are met with a few tables before seeing the kitchen, and then a sign that tells us that there are more seats on the inside. We walked through and we found ourselves outside under beautiful big trees and wooden tables. Suddenly we felt like we were in a garden. We saw a standalone fire pit on the side and sat beside it. It was a cold afternoon, so they had the fire going. Loved it!

The menu was big for a cottage eatery and we got a wrap and tacos with our drinks. Overall, the food was not too bad however the presentation was not very desirable. So visually, the food didn’t look appetising. My wrap tasted fine. I didn’t mind it. At the end of the day, how hard is it to F-up a wrap, really. As for Cam’s tacos, he mentioned that it needed a little something more, but he couldn’t put his finger on what it was. My White Rose & Goji tea was really nice though. Good to drink that on a cold afternoon by the fire.

We gave Pakington Cottage 6.5 out of 10.
