The emotional and stressful journey started and we didn’t know it

We didn’t know it. We didn’t know when it hit us but when we knew what was going on, we were surprised at how early it had taken a toll on our minds and our bodies. We thought the emotional journey would probably start when we know that we are pregnant. We were so wrong. It all started late last year when we were told by our surrogacy agency that we have been chosen by our lovely surrogate. If anyone has read our post on how fast our matching process was, they would know how scattered and surprised we were. The emotional side of things did not really register. We were at the bottom of a landslide. We didn’t know what kind of stress that we will be going through just to fulfil our dreams of having our own family.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It’s been a while since my last visit to Keyaki Japanese (Hokkaido) Restaurant, in Pan Pacific Hotel Singapore. The last time was with my mum maybe almost two decades ago. I remember Keyaki had fantastic food… and it still has! The dinner was a treat from the Sales Manager from Pan Pacific Hotel Singapore whom we have never met. He wanted to buy us dinner as we have been staying at the hotel for a few years now. We are frequent visitors of the hotel.

Sendle continues to disappoint

Sendle is a crap business and has crap service.

Sendle is a crappy business.

They have extremely poor customer focus and their customer relations is by far the worst I have seen from any organisation.

So I have decided to give Sendle, the courier service, another go because I thought I should give them a second chance after the last time when they failed to pick up a box for my customers from my address. You can read the last rant here. Now the same thing has happened where my parcel for delivery to my customer sat down at the reception for three days now and they are not really doing anything to collect it and would rather cancel and refund than to solve the issue.

Below was the email communication between Sendle and me. Read from top to bottom like an email trail, and you will know why I don’t believe in Sendle anymore.

On 17 January 2016, I was an excited little kid. It was a beautiful day in Singapore and I had my DJI Mavic Pro for about a week and a half but have not flown it yet. I brought it over to Singapore from Melbourne so it could make its maiden flight in my home country. It was so much more portable than the last one I had – DJI Phantom 4! I was impressed with how compact it is!

What made it more excitable was that my parents and Cameron were there to watch it take off! At MacRitchie Reservoir Park, Dad was particularly excited as well, and he was also impressed by the speed it went and the distance it covered. Here are some of the shots and videos. It’s a pity that my polarised lens did not arrive in time…

At the Ling Family home, we managed to sneak the DJI Mavic Pro out between the frequent rain showers. What a fun family shoot! Never seen the house that I grew up in from the top view. Even the cul-de-sac at the front of the house looks so nice. That tree, which my dad really dislike looks pretty cool from above!

To twins or not to twins?

So there is a turn of events or expectations. Our IVF Clinic has indicated to our surrogate that there is only going to be one embryo transfer, which means that the likelihood of us having twins has been chopped at the legs. The egg donor and us do not have any family history of twins, so we can rule out the chances of the embryo splitting for identical twins.

It is not that we insist in twins, but we have been told by our surrogacy agency that they advise not to have double embryo transfer, but if the surrogate is okay and also if we want to try for it, we can, as long as we sign a waiver form, which we did. We are aware of the risks of multiple births.
