[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The last time we were in Bali, we wanted to come here. That was two years ago. This time we are back and we were determined to try this place out. Booked and ready to eat, we ordered from almost every category there was on the menu, most of them by recommendation of the female wait staff.
To be honest with you, we rated the meal 7.5 out of 10. It was a decent score, but it was still pretty average for what we have read or heard about this place. The Massaman Chicken Curry was slightly off the mark in taste and the beef short ribs were dried, plus one of the two desserts was just not that good. Everything else was not too bad. The consistency of the place was not really up to our expectation. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. It was just ‘borderline good’. So were the restaurant staff.
What made the dinner unbearable were the seats and those tables! We were sitting at the tables against the wall. I sat in the end of a long chesterfield couch-like seat, and Cam was seated in a more upright chair. The table was made of marble top and the metal structure that supported the marble was angled in such a way that our legs were literally forced together, or to be positioned closer together. Each of the legs were joined together in a cross that met in the middle of the table which were about 20cm off the ground. So just imagine that and our legs were almost closed and almost at right angles. Couldn’t stretch at all. I was kind of stuck in the seat as the heavy marble-top table was pushed up against me when I sat down. Not good. Not very customer-friendly.
Would I go back again? Probably not. Will I tell people to go? Maybe, maybe not. I am still not sure about it. I think it is overrated.
